Most multiple ligament knee injuries result from high-energy trauma and may have nerve
and vascular injuries accompanying them. The majority of multiple-ligament-injured
knee injuries that we see are trauma related as opposed to sports related, with combined
anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)-posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tears and combined
PCL-posterolateral corner tears being the most frequent injury patterns.
