Femoral Nerve Block for ACL Reconstruction Causes Lasting Fast Quadriceps Activation Deficits and May Increase Contralateral Injury Risk

      Femoral nerve block (FNB) causes short-term quadriceps strength deficits after ACL reconstruction (ACLR), though it is unclear whether clinically relevant residual deficits occur. The study purpose is to determine whether FNB for ACLR increases risk of: 1) failing to meet isokinetic strength criteria for return to sport (RTS), or 2) recurrent ACL injury.
