The Effect of Femoral Version on Acetabular Loading Characteristics: a Biomechanical Study

Abnormal femoral torsion, both retroverted and anteverted, has been associated with hip pain and intraarticular pathology. Excessive version may alter acetabular loading characteristics leading to chondrolabral injuries. This study evaluated changes in location and forces of acetabular loading using simulated weight-bearing models following changes in femoral torsion.
